Conner Prairie
7 March 2009The First Federal Division event for this year - on the weekend of May 15-17, will be a living history encampment at Conner Prairie, Indiana.
This year’s event is going to be quite different from past Conner Prairie’s. The scenario is that we will be representing a regiment in the 3rd Brigade, 2nd Division, 20th Corps, of the Army of the Cumberland. (Which regiment will be finalized once WB staff has a better idea of our numbers!) The time is May, 1863. Our part of the Army of the Cumberland has been serving on the Duck River Line, and is ‘currently’ shifting positions. We will move into the village of Conner Prairie for a day of rest before continuing our march. The schedule of events will be set to facilitate this first-person impression. Daily activities will include repair and cleaning our soiled gear, issue of rations, inspections and dress parade: all the things a regiment on campaign did when they had a day to rest in a town! Guards will be posted, and we can expect to have encounters with Rebels in the area!
For other information about the plans, please check out the First Federal Division website:

As the schedule is formalized, there will be more information here.
Registration is now open: each company is to register BY COMPANY through the FFD website noted above. The sooner your company can register, the better! This will facilitate in organizing our battalion, and in preparing the rations and other material culture procurements.
I look forward to seeing you all at this interesting and different event.
Sincerely,
Colonel James Moffet
Western Brigade
